Meta’s launched a brand way to grow a Facebook group
For a while, Facebook groups have been a good way for small business owners to foster a relationship with leads, to get them to purchase, or stay customers.
But the problem is that Facebook groups have been a pain to grow. Advertisers have asked for the ability to run ads to grow a Facebook group for years but it hasn’t happened, until now.
Luckily, Meta has finally released a way for folks advertising on social media to grow their Facebook groups.
Facebook groups. As with anything, this feature may not be available to all ad accounts yet. But fingers crossed this feature drops for everyone who would use it.
A Penny for My Thoughts
I personally know that some other business owners are starting to move away from Facebook groups as a way to maintain a connection with their potential customers. I wonder if Meta’s offering the ability for business owners to grow a Facebook group as a way to keep that engagement ability relevant? Who knows. We’ll see if this will still be the best way for people to grow their group or if the old strategies are still the #1 way to go.
How you can use this new Meta tool to attract local leads
This is a pretty cool feature I wanted to share with you. Now, Facebook is testing a new way for local businesses to get in front of other customers. Pretty much, once a lead fills out an instant form to get in contact with a business, they will have the ability to submit their information at the click of a button to other surrounding businesses.

A penny for my thoughts
This may give local businesses a way to get in front of other customers at a low cost.
My question is, how is Facebook going to decide which businesses are on the list?
Since this was just announced days ago, there’s not a way for us to tell yet.
But we’ll see how this goes.
I can see that this may be a feature that’s good for restaurants, services (like nail salons, gyms, real estate agents, etc.) and even creative businesses (like photographers, web designers, and advertising agencies).
If your Instagram’s been taking a trip on the struggle bus, and you’re having a hard time growing, don’t be ashamed. It’s not your fault. Here’s probably why…
Okay, by now, you may or may not have realized that even though marketing is very creative…the best marketers study one thing more than the others…THE DATA!
And Metricool in this 2023 study examined millions of posts, different styles of content, and even broke their analysis up by follower size.
I already had a hunch that the results were what was happening and seeing the data in black and white confirmed it.
Here’s the gist…
Metricool, which is a big whig social media organization followed by major brands, found that the ability for Instagram accounts with less than 500 followers to reach new and existing followers dropped by 75% from 2022 to 2023.
A penny for my thoughts
This is the biggest and most important study I’ve seen in a while. I can speak from first-hand experience that in the online space, it’s hard to find a marketer that doesn’t scream how you need to post everyday.
Yet few marketers talk about strategy.
And EVEN FEWER marketers talk about changing up your strategy based on data and the size of your followers.
Now I’m not saying you shouldn’t post on social media.
But let’s look at real hard facts. This study reveals what I’ve always known: that small business owners need to switch up their Facebook and Instagram strategy based on the size of their following and their goals.
Peep the study here.
Perhaps the next question you have to ask yourself is…”if we need to change our social media strategy, then what should we do?”
